Welcome
to our Virtual Clubhouse.
We are too young to yet have our own physical clubhouse building with its library and store of artefacts, so far the present, this website is our only permanent home.
At the
present time in South East Essex there is no establishment up and running for
teaching practical archaeological experience, as the local colleges do not have
the facilities, or allocated funding, for this type of teaching.
Originally formed as “AGES AAA” in 2003, the Association rebranded itself in November 2008 as “Ages AHA” with the AHA standing for Archaeological & Historical Association to better reflect the valuable historical research seen to be an integral part of most archaeological studies and certainly part of what we all enjoy doing on a regular basis.
We see ourselves as a gateway of archaeological and historical knowledge for the people of the area of the Thames Gateway north of the Thames taking in members from the Castle Point, Basildon, Rochford, Southend and potentially Thurrock areas.
