PROJECT ESSEX COASTAL

Projects main page

Project Essex From the Tower of London down the Essex Coast/Estuary of the River Thames to Shoeburyness and up and around the Seaward side of the Essex coast. It is known that the water and tidal level has vastly changed over the centuries. But by how much and is it still changing?

If Ages-AAA is going to be a responsible Association inside Essex then we had better learn about our own area and neighbourhood. Not withstanding that much of this research can benefit BOTH Project's Hadleigh and Viking.

We believe that there was at least a small dock for Hadleigh Castle, where could it be? The Canvey Saltings - what relationship does it have to other sites and known archaeology in the area?

CURRENT PROJECT STATUS

Initial site visit and exploratory notes planned for Summer 2005.
